Central Bank

Helio Ferreira Pinto's project, his plan was inspired by the logo of the institution. The building stands in the Southern Banking Sector with the magnificence of its 21 floors. It has six underground levels that house t he coffers of the National Treasury. The Bank also has one of the most important art galleries in Brasilia, with a collection of paintings by Portinari, Di Cavalcanti, Tarcila do Amaral, Djanira and other artists of the modernist movement in Brazil. The Museum of Money still works in the building, with a rich collection of banknotes, medals, coins and documents on the economic history of Brazil.

Schedule : Only the museum is open to the public, Tuesday through Friday, from 9am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm.

Library of the Cultural Complex of the Republic

This work completes the initial project of the Ministries Esplanade, designed by Lucio Costa and Niemeyer in 1960. By design, the Cultural Complex of the Republic has six buildings in the Cultural Sectors, South and North.
Adress : The Library and Museum are located on the south side, next to the Cathedral.

Caixa Econômica Federal

Located in the South Banking Sector, the building is shaped like a cylindrical tower with a surface made of vertical strips of concrete. Downstairs, the beautiful stained glass windows by Lawrence Heilmer attract visitors. Its interior is completely cast by a circular staircase. The Centro Cultural da Caixa is worth seeing, a reference in the promotion of culture in Brasilia, with a significant collection of contemporary Brazilian art and with periodic exhibitions of great artistic value

Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady Aparecida

Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, it has a circular plan, with access to its interior through an underpass. It has 16 curved pillars attached at the top. The cathedral has a significant collection of works of art: on the outside, the sculptures of the four evangelists by Alfredo Ceschiatti and the bells donated by the Spanish government. Inside, the Ceschiatti angels, paintings by Di Cavalcanti, the windows of Marianne Peretti and a ceramic panel from Athos Bulcão, at the baptistry.

Ayrton Senna Sports Center

One of the biggest sports complexes in the country, it has the Mané Garrincha Soccer Stadium, a gymnasium, multipurpose courts, an aquatic complex, athletic fields, motocross tracks and the Nelson Piquet Speedway.
